Oh my my!
What a beautiful new face for the Newlyfleds!

You are now viewing the official blog for our travels, adventures and life as we globe trot and continue building our lives together. This project has been my brainchild for the last few months, as I have been making the transition to super-official blogger status and endlessly researching all of the best “blogger” practices. I think I am finally up to the challenge!

The thing is, there is so much I think that I can do. I feel like it has so much potential to be something I am very proud of. I think I have something to say – about travel, about figuring out this whole ex-pat thing, about being newlywed in a new country, building a new kind of community, finding worth in new places. For the last year and a half, I’ve had so much positive feed back about the content of this blog. And I have really poured my heart into it. But, my gosh, blogging takes a lot of effort. Even if everything I cast out into that very vast World Wide Wed goes noticed only by my 30+ faithful followers, then that is enough for me.

But with the encouragement of a few of you, I am taking the plunge to make this a real thing. The official URL was purchased (I am really stuck with this “Newlyfleds” thing I came up with in the Boise Airport before our first flight to Finland. Hope you like it!) and a comprehensive landing page has been built. In all honesty, it has been ready to launch for weeks. I’ve been fiddling and fussing so much, I have half a mind to scratch it and start over (you know when you just stare at something too long?). But its time to do it. It is time to hit that damn button and publish the site. There will be some small things yet to fix- adding some digital downloads, refining old posts. But you can count on the heart and soul still being right here.

The chances are that you are here because you are one of my followers; your emails have already been transferred over, so you will continue to be notified each time a post goes live.
Also, please have a poke around the new and improved pages and goodies on this site. You will even find links to our Facebook page, Pinterest and even Bloglovin, if you utilize those sites.
If none of the above listed platforms mean anything to you, fret not! It is great just to have you here! However, if you prefer to use “bookmarks” please note that the URL has changed, so please update that.

The last month has been a complete whirlwind. I was able to spend 10 days with my mom and two sisters in Paris- you know, doing all the girly Parisian things– made a trip to Idaho to visit our families as well as a brief stop in Mexico for Jimmy’s company conference- obligatory stuff, you know– and today a Finnish Fourth of July Party. And I owe you posts on all of it. Some of them are already in draft form, awaiting edited photos and this fresh new face for this blog.

Thank you for your encouraging words, your faithful following, and your interest in this absolutely incredible adventure that we are on! We love having you with us.

Your Newlyfleds

    Amy,

Love the new format! And I love your packing and travel lists. One thought for you to maybe consider; it would be wonderful if those lists could be made into an app form so you can pull it up on the go!!

    You go, Girl!

      Thank you Patty!
I have actually been discussing App development with one of my friends- we have some excellent ideas for a comprehensive travel app. Perhaps I will have to add app design to my list of new adventures! I will be sure you are one of the first to find out!
In the near future, however, we will be publishing a post on travel apps that we use and love now!
      Thank you for following!
